About Miami Seaquarium
Miami Seaquarium is one of South Florida's oldest and most beloved marine attractions, located on Virginia Key with stunning views of Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline. Open since 1955, this 38-acre oceanarium features marine shows with dolphins and sea lions, tropical reef aquariums, a manatee exhibit, sea turtle rehabilitation programs, and encounters with penguins and stingrays. One of the park's most popular experiences is the dolphin swim program, where guests can get in the water and interact with bottlenose dolphins. The park also offers educational programs focused on marine conservation and the ecosystems of South Florida. The Seaquarium has served as a filming location for the classic TV show Flipper and continues to be a major destination for families visiting Miami. The park sits along the Rickenbacker Causeway en route to Key Biscayne, making it easy to combine with a beach day at Crandon Park or Bill Baggs. Allow 3-4 hours for a full visit.
The Miami Seaquarium was a 38-acre (15Β ha) oceanarium located on the island of Virginia Key in Biscayne Bay, Miami-Dade County, Florida, located near downtown Miami. The seaquarium closed after 70 years of operation on October 12, 2025.
