About Frost Museum of Science
The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science is one of the top science museums in the southeastern United States, located in Museum Park on Biscayne Bay alongside PAMM. The museum features three major components: a spectacular three-level aquarium with a 500,000-gallon Gulf Stream tank visible from below through an oculus lens, a 250-seat Frost Planetarium with cutting-edge 8K projection technology, and four floors of interactive science exhibitions covering topics from the Everglades ecosystem and Florida wildlife to space exploration, the physics of light and sound, and the human body. The aquarium highlights include sharks, rays, sea turtles, jellyfish, and a coral reef exhibit showcasing South Florida marine habitats. The rooftop offers panoramic views of Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline. Frost Science is the number one family attraction in downtown Miami, and visitors should plan at least 3-4 hours to experience everything. The museum also hosts after-hours events, science lectures, and special exhibitions throughout the year.
The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, formerly known as the Miami Science Museum or Miami Science Museum and Space Transit Planetarium, is a science museum, planetarium, and aquarium located in Miami, Florida, United States. The museum originally opened its Coconut Grove location across from Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in 1960. It relocated to Maurice A. Ferré Park in the downtown area adjacent to the Perez Art Museum Miami in 2017 after the closing of the Coconut Grove location in 2015.
