About South Pointe Park
South Pointe Park sits at the very southern tip of Miami Beach where Biscayne Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean, and it offers some of the most spectacular views in all of Miami. The 17-acre waterfront park features a beautifully landscaped green space, a paved walking path along the water, a playground, a splash pad for kids, and a wide sandy beach with calm, clear water. The main attraction is watching massive cruise ships glide through Government Cut — the shipping channel between Miami Beach and Fisher Island — sometimes close enough that you feel like you could touch them. The park's jetty walk extends out into the water, providing panoramic views of the Miami skyline, Star Island, and Fisher Island. South Pointe Park Beach has calmer water than the main South Beach stretch to the north, making it better for swimming with kids. The upscale Smith & Wollensky steakhouse sits right in the park with waterfront dining. South Pointe is less crowded than Lummus Park Beach and offers a more relaxed atmosphere while still being walkable to all of South Beach's restaurants and nightlife. It's one of the best sunset spots in Miami and a favorite for photographers.
South Pointe Park, known locally as South Pointe, is a 17-acre (6.9 ha) county urban park in metropolitan Miami, in the South Beach neighborhood of Miami Beach, Florida.
