About Crandon Park Beach
Crandon Park Beach on Key Biscayne is consistently rated one of the top beaches in the United States by publications like Travel + Leisure and Dr. Beach. This stunning two-mile stretch of golden sand features calm, shallow waters protected by an offshore sandbar, creating a natural wading pool that makes it the best family beach in Miami. The beach is lined with swaying coconut palms and sea grapes providing natural shade throughout the day. Crandon Park offers excellent amenities including covered picnic shelters with grills, clean restrooms and showers, a nature center with educational programs, and a large parking lot ($5 per vehicle). The surrounding 808-acre park also includes the Crandon Golf Course, the Crandon Park Tennis Center (former home of the Miami Open), a marina, and walking trails through coastal hammock and mangrove habitats. On weekends the beach fills up quickly, so arriving before 10AM is recommended. Kayak and paddleboard rentals are available on the north end. The calm, warm waters and gentle sandy bottom make Crandon Park Beach one of the safest swimming beaches in South Florida and a must-visit for anyone traveling to Miami with children.
Crandon Park is an 808-acre (3.27 km2) urban park in metropolitan Miami, occupying the northern part of Key Biscayne. It is connected to mainland Miami via the Rickenbacker Causeway.
