About Shark Valley
Shark Valley is one of the most accessible and rewarding entry points into Everglades National Park. The 15-mile paved loop road is ideal for biking or riding the open-air tram, winding through a landscape of sawgrass prairie, hardwood hammocks, and waterways filled with alligators and wading birds. At the midpoint of the trail stands a 65-foot observation tower offering sweeping 360-degree panoramic views of the endless Everglades. Bicycle rentals are available at the visitor center, and ranger-led programs provide deeper insight into this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Shark Valley is especially spectacular during the dry season from December through April when wildlife congregates around the remaining water sources.
